Great start of 2022!
The year 2022 started well for me! My photo of the volcanic eruption at Fagradalsfjall in Iceland made it into the selection of 25 best landscape photos in the Xpozer landscape photo contest!
I enjoyed the impressive magma spewing volcano. It required a 'hike' of a total of 16 km through the mountains, but definitely worth it! A great experience, truly an impressive natural phenomenon.
Captured with the Fujifilm GFX 50s with the GF 45-100 at 100mm, ISO 3200, f/22 and 1,8 sec. And with the use of CPL and GND filters

Red car in motion
This photo was taken on a rainy evening in Arnhem. The rain and puddles create a beautiful atmosphere around the railway viaduct at the Willemsplein. I chose a low position from a tripod with a long shutter speed (1/8 sec) to get a wide image with dynamics.
This photo with the titel 'Red car in motion' is taken with the Fuji X-H1 and my super wide-angle zoom at 8mm (12mm FF equivalent), f/5.6, ISO 800.
The photo got the BRONZE CERTIFICATE from the Dutch Photo Association (Photo Online 2020) and is in February 2021 published in 'IN BEELD', edition 102, the quarterly magazine from the Dutch Photo Association.
Also the photo got the SECOND PRIZE at the annual club contest of Photoclub Focel, Elst, November 2020.

Negative space 'In the Picture'
A fishermen on the beach in Hoek van Holland. A perfect example of negative space... by using a lot of negative space in the composition, the main subject, the fisherman, will attract all the attention. Photo taken with the Nikon D800 and my standard zoom @45mm with f/10, 8 sec and ISO 250.
One of the five selected photos by the Dutch Photo Association for 'In the picture, edition 28'.

Stormy weather
Stormy weather in the vicinity of Fort Pannerden. Photo taken in December 2019 with my Fuji X-H1 and the super wide-angle zoom @8mm. With ISO 200 and f/8. Long exposure. In Lightroom finished with the beautiful Fujifilm Classic Chrome film simulation and I used ND, GND, and CPL-filters for the nice colors, exposure and sphere.
This photo has been selected by the jury and is 1 of the 5 landscape photos in the 2020 Gelders Nature Photo Contest. In total, more than 800 photos were submitted, so I'm quite proud!

National Photo Salon Invitation
I got an INVITATION by the Dutch Photo Association to submit a coherent series of five photos for the annual National Photo Salon.
Out of all 171 entries, a maximum of thirteen series will be selected for the salon. I have submitted these five photos. Unfortunately I was not one of the twelve chosen but I am proud that I was invited by the Dutch Photo Association. Better luck next time!
The five seascapes were taken in January of this year and taken from the Brouwersdam in Zeeland. The images almost evoke a meditative moment because of the beautiful surreal colors, the vastness and the emptiness. The chosen technique contributes to this: I took the images with my Fuji X-H1 in the early morning with the beautiful morning light from a low point of view and using slow shutter speeds (8 to 15 seconds) and a ultra wide-angle lens (8 to 16 mm).
