The Art of Seeing

I'm Eddy

I live in Ermelo. Photography has been my great passion for many years. What appeals to me so much is that photography teaches me to look at things differently — not just at extraordinary places or impressive subjects, but specifically at the small moments that unfold around us every single day. 

I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with others. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing people suddenly discover images they hadn’t noticed before. Whether you are just starting out in photography or have been holding a camera for years, there is always something new to discover.
And if requested, I am happy to conduct a street photography workshop or lead a photo walk. I also photograph events, parties, or (family) portraits on location, and I give presentations on photography — covering topics such as architecture and my travels.

My motto is "The Art of Seeing"
For me, photography doesn’t begin with technique or equipment; it begins with attentive observation — noticing light, composition, lines, patterns, and those fleeting moments that others might simply walk past. 

Street photography has captured my heart. On the street, everything happens at once: encounters, emotions, humor, unique lighting conditions, and unexpected moments. That is precisely what makes it so compelling. The challenge lies in spotting that one specific moment and capturing it before it vanishes.
In addition, I enjoy photographing nature and landscapes. In nature and landscapes, I find peace, atmosphere, and ever-changing light.
Architecture fascinates me through its interplay of lines, shapes, and perspectives.

As diverse as these subjects may be, they all share one thing in common: they require careful observation and a healthy dose of curiosity. Wonder, observation, and creativity are the common threads running through my photography. I am always in search of surprising perspectives — images that cause people to pause for a moment. To me, that is the essence of "The Art of Seeing".
