Street Photography in Utrecht
October 2026

A beautiful, sunny October day for practicing street photography in Utrecht with my photography buddy Etienne. Some of the photos feature lovely reflections and shadows. We walked a lot, took plenty of shots, and had a great time!
Photos taken with my favorite compact and lightweight street photography setup: the Sony A7CR with the FE 40mm f/2.5 G (except for the first photo, which I took with the FE 14mm f/1.8 GM).

Two weeks in beautiful Tuscany
September 2026

In July 2026, I enjoyed the beautiful surroundings of northern Tuscany for two weeks with my family. We stayed in a large, charming country house with a lovely swimming pool in Castelvecchio di Compito, near Lucca. We enjoyed the beautiful landscape, the old villages, the food and the drinks. The photos I took reflect how I see that part of Tuscany.

Modern architecture in Utrecht
August 2026

De Kwekerij, a sustainable and colorful campus project on Burgemeester Fockema Andreaelaan in Utrecht East. The residential complex comprises approximately 1,150 student and starter homes, with Arons en Gelauff Architects as one of the key designers for the lively and green living environment. It was built in the years 2020–2024. It is a particularly colorful residential complex!

Lelystad Nature Park
July 2026 and August 2026

Visit to Lelystad Nature Park. It's a beautiful park, saw and captured a lot: including three storks, a wild boar, two european bison, a moose, and père david's deer!

Architectural city of Almere
June 2026

A beautiful afternoon in the architectural city of Almere. This is La Défense, the office of the Tax and Customs Administration in Almere. Designed by Ben van Berkel.
The facades are clad with aluminium plates. Special foil in the glass creates a dynamic and colourful play of light.

A week at the Faroe Islands
April 2026

Together with three photography friends, I enjoyed a week at the Faroe Islands. We stayed in a charming boathouse in Vestmanna at the island of Streymoy. It was a true experience with sun, rain, fog, and stormy weather. We enjoyed the rugged landscape!

Historic and iconic trams in Lisbon
March 2026

Besides photographing landscapes and architecture, street photography also gives me a lot of energy. Here is a recent photo of a characteristic street scene in Lisbon. Tram 28 is a historic, iconic yellow tram that winds through the narrow, steep streets of the Alfama, Baixa, Estrela, and Graça districts.
I waited for the right moment: three ‘historic’ trams captured simultaneously in one image.

Praia dos Arrifes
February 2026

The Algarve coast is so beautiful! So here are two images of Praia dos Arrifes. From our holiday accommodation, it's a 10-minute walk to this beautiful beach with its jagged rocks. Even in the middle of the day, in the full sun, it's stunning. I took the first photo from one of the many caves carved out by the ocean. This creates a beautiful frame for my photo. I also chose a small aperture to make the sun's rays visible.

Zutphen in B&W in six atmospheric images: inside town hall, parking garage, Walburgis Church, cityscape with the Drogenapstoren, a nice man with a hat and another street photo with nice shadows.

The Tornado
January 2026

I recently visited the Fenix Migration Museum in Rotterdam's Katendrecht district. It focuses on the theme of migration and shows how people are on the move worldwide, both historically and today. The focal point of the Fenix Museum is the Tornado, a double-turning staircase designed by architect Ma Yansong of MAD Architects. The staircase features unexpected twists and turns, offering ever-new perspectives and symbolizing the migrant.

Winter wonderland in Ermelo!
January 2026

Very surprisingly, in the first week of January, there was a lot of snow. Of course, I had to capture that with my camera. And the light was so beautiful to see! It was amazing!
I took photos on the Groevenbeekse heide and in the Ruigeveld woods, two beautiful nature reserves around Ermelo.

Creative experiment
December 2025

I experimented with the 'Pep Ventosa' technique. The principle works as follows: you photograph an object from all sides and then overlay the photos. This way, you see the object from all angles in a single photo. This creates a particularly beautiful, painterly effect.
I composed the following two photos from 24 photos I took of one of the characteristic trees on the Beekhuizerzand near Harderwijk. Combined into single photos using Photoshop.
I converted the first photo to black and white using a low-contrast monochromatic treatment in Photoshop. And the second photo using the Reala Ace film simulation in my camera and a surreal color treatment in Photoshop.

Recently sold photo
September 2025

I photographed this scenery in August 2017 in the Landschaftspark in Duisburg.
The photo has been given a nice place on the wall in size 105 x 60cm and printed on aluminum dibond.
This work has now been sold 3 times!

Fantastic evening at Engelsmanplaat
July 2025

Fantastic evening at Engelsmanplaat in the Wadden Sea. With nice clouds and a beautiful sunset.
Engelsmanplaat is a sandbank located between Ameland and Schiermonnikoog, approximately five kilometers from the Frisian coast. The sandbank has an area of less than one square kilometer and is almost completely submerged at high tide. On Engelsmanplaat you will find the Kalkman (lookout tower) and a beautiful beacon.
The Wadden Sea has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2009.

A 'father-son' project! Creation made with my son's photoshop skills and my own photography skills. Nice combination and a nice result, if I say so myself!
We used charcoal, ash, a 'jeu-de-boule' ball, light from different lamps and colored glass plates.
